After accepting a position in Westchester County, my husband and I made a move from Delaware to New York. The Topper Team assisted us in finding a place to lease and worked to make sure we settled comfortably into our space. All of this is to be expected of a real estate agent. What happened next, is not. After a few months, my employment ended and we found ourselves in a town where we knew no one, had no employment, and was without the network one develops when one has been somewhere for a long time. When Wendy and Dana learned of this, they jumped into action. In a matter of 24 hours, they were connecting us with people, sending us leads and developing a network for us. This is not something required, nor did it result in anything for them. It was a selfless act of human kindness and spoke volumes about their integrity and dedication. In 2002, you came highly recommended by a friend and are we were delighted it was you. As soon as we met you reassured us that we would find the house of our dreams. The process did not take long even though at the time there were not too many houses on the market and especially not in Valimar. We found a house, and fell in love with it immediately, 141 Friendship Ct. But our other house deal (a different realtor) in Port Washington fell through. The transition of carrying two houses was not easy for us but with your Real Estate knowledge it made our transition to Westchester life stress-free.
During the next nine years you were there every time we needed support whether it was to find a price $$ reasonable plumber, painter, gardener, or handy man. You seem to have this bag of resources that astonished even me.
In 2011, my sons got accepted to University of Arizona and we reached out to you to help us sell our house. The market was slow but you were supportive and after a certain time frame you suggested that we rent and it took all of one week for someone to make us an offer. You were able to negotiate a great deal; we received enough to cover the mortgage, taxes, house insurance and still have extra funds with a four year lease. We were happy to have you in our corner.
As many home owners’ know renting your home and being away from your home state can be difficult especially when things break so we were glad to hear that you are also a Property Manager. We contracted your service to oversee the management of our precious house that was in 2011, four years ago. During that time you were there to help the tenant’s transition and assist them through small issues to the most difficult. The hardest being when the furnace stopped working February, 2015 and it was 15 degrees outside. You immediately got into action, Superwomen. Two quotes, contacted me with the information and installation was completed, turnaround time was twenty-four hours; problem.

March 2015, you contacted us with a reminder that it’s time to put the house on the market for sale or rent. We complete the necessary forms and the house goes on the market May 1, 2015. Brochures are prepared and sent out by ERA to 24 areas in Westchester, NY. In addition, you enroll me in an internet service that facilitates the process and connects me to a service called Listingbook, it provides daily morning reports. Personally, I felt it was a very effective communication tool.
On May 4, you call there is an “Offer on the Table” we discuss my options. You negotiate back and forth and contracts were signed on May 5 .

There were many things that I felt you did that helped show the house exceptionally well on MLS. You are an outstanding realtor, your attention to detail, preparation, such as house photos, house and area description, videos and most importantly your accessibility when contacted by the buyer’s realtors.
I always felt that your attention to details, any questions I may have or the other realtors are important no matter how minute. Another thing is that you always say if I don’t know I’ll find out, such an admiral quality! Additionally, a very important piece to your services is your partner, Wendy. So there is always collaboration, in case you are not available, which has happened just once in 13 years.
Dana, I don’t know what I would have done without you all these years. Thank you.

We recently rented a house in Valimar. From the first contact onwards Dana and Wendy were extremely helpful and instrumental supporting the finalization of the lease as well as all other steps necessary to conclude the move in agreement. We have engaged Dana and Wendy Topper for their real estate expertise and services on a number of occasions over the past three years. In 2003, we listed our home in Valimar for sale with Dana. Her knowledge of Valimar as a resident herself was our primary reason for listing with her. We felt that this gave us a clear advantage. It was also important to us to know that her partner Wendy was available in Dana's absence and that we had the expertise of both them through the process. Dana worked all the angles in trying to obtain showings and a sale for us. At that time, showings were hard to come by. Soon after listing for sale, we listed the house for rent and were successful in obtaining a 3 year lease. Dana handled the standard lease on our behalf. Vivian and I just wanted to drop you a note to say thank you and let you know how extremely satisfied and appreciative we are by how you handled the eventual rental of our home. As you know, we began this process by attempting to sell our home (located in Valimar) privately, knowing full well that the lack of exposure would limit us in obtaining a potential purchaser. Our suspicions were eventually proved correct after a month of unsuccessful open houses and small print ads.

We then retained your services as our listing agent and things began to pick up tremendously. Your attention to detail was impeccable in terms of getting the listing completed, as well as putting out a very appealing and professionally-crafted mailing that was circulated right away throughout the neighborhood. Unfortunately, after numerous showings and open houses, of which you worked tirelessly towards getting as much feedback from other brokers and potential buyers, we were again unsuccessful in reaching a deal to sell. Knowing full well that this rental affects your commission tremendously (4x less compared to a sale commission), we couldn’t be more pleased with your professionalism and work ethic in completing this deal, especially considering how hard you worked in attempting to get the house sold. While some brokers, I imagine, would be inclined not to put as much effort into a rental deal following a long attempt to sell, you have put just as much, if not more, time and energy into the rental and you clearly have put our best interests in front of everyone else’s, especially your own.
